Our Critical Repair Program
Habitat’s Critical Home Repair program is an extension of our mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. It helps families maintain and stay in their homes, and contributes to neighborhood stabilization and revitalization.
Repairs can be interior or exterior work performed to alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or code violations, including a change to or repair of materials or components. For more information about our critical repair program please call 937-586-0860 for more information about the application process.
Basic requirements:
- Home must be owner-occupied (mobile homes are not eligible)
- Home must be located in Clark, Greene, or Montgomery County
- Household income must meet program guidelines
- Willing to provide proof of gross income for all household residents over 18
- Homeowner must be up to date on property taxes or on a payment plan
Repairs we offer:
- Accessibility: wheelchair ramps, grab bars, widening doorways, converting tubs into accessible showers
- Electrical repairs
- Furnace replacement
- HVAC repairs
- Plumbing repairs
- Roof repairs/replacements
- Water heater replacement
- Repairs of code violations to prevent further fines
Repairs we do NOT offer:
- Any work on mobile homes, condos, or multi-family homes
- Any work on garages, sheds, carports, fences, or any structure not a part of the house
- Emergency repairs needing immediate attention
- Interior painting or cosmetic repairs
- Yard work or tree removal

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.
